National Conference
Recap
My involvement in PRSSA started two years ago in Fall 2013.
I wanted to get involved in my major so I decided to sign up for PRSSA at the
activities fair. I did not know much about the club but, I signed up anyway. I
look back on that day, as the day I made one of the best decisions of my
college career. PRSSA helps connect me with the people and resources I need in
order to learn more about my prospective career and future. My involvement in
PRSSA has provided me with a wide array of opportunities.
One of the best opportunities that PRSSA has provided me with
was the opportunity to attend the 2015 PRSSA National Conference in Atlanta,
Georgia. I have wanted to attend National Conference since the first time I
heard about it and I am so glad that I was finally able to attend.
National Conference provides PRSSA students from all over
the country the opportunities to network and learn from PR professionals by
attending development sessions, a career fair, and other countless amenities.

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the sessions that I attended. By
the end of conference, I felt even more inspired and motivated to succeed in
the PR profession.
At the end of the night when we were done with sessions it
was fun to explore Downtown Atlanta. It was my first time utilizing UBER and I
was amazed by the convenience of the app and service. We were able to go to the
mall/shopping district and various delicious restaurants. One of the highlights
of my trip was touring Coca Cola World. I was completely engaged in the brand
and it was awesome to have fun while enjoying successful marketing ventures. Another one of my highlights was the opening
night premiere party that was hosted at the hotel. Both events were opportune bonding
moments for our chapter attendees.
#PRSSANC was a huge investment in my future! I was able to network and connect with PR professionals from all over. I learned that it is important to carry business cards where ever you go, because you never know when you are going to need them. I highly recommend that anyone interested in PR attend a PRSSA National Conference. I am already looking forward to next year!
